- Blendspace - This tool lets me combine videos, text, and interactive activities into seamless playlists that I push to student devices, saving the trouble of students needing to jump back and forth between multiple browser tabs of the desired content.
- Canvas Instructure - Learning management system (LMS) that lets educators build and house entire online courses, by providing tools for communication, document sharing, and a space to display content.
- Edmodo - The Facebook of safe school social media. I use the structure to create small groups that I can push differentiated content to without the drawbacks of publicly displaying each small group's work expectations.
- Flickr: The Commons - a resource for open source images from Flickr databases.
- Flocabulary - Educational hip-hop videos that support instructions of language arts, math, science, and social studies. Some free content but worth the $99 price for a years subscription. For older students there is a Week in Rap that summarizes weekly news events in a visually appealing video with sick rhymes and beats. This site is a must if you yourself are a hip hop lover!
- GoNoodle - Is a resource for giving students "brain breaks" during learning time. Short interactive videos encourage students to move, shout, sing and helps students focus during independent work.
- Illustrated Mathematics Dictionary - This is an interactive mathematics dictionary that is a great reference guide for young mathematician.
- Photos for Class - searches open source photos for pictures that are safe for use in the classroom and by students.
- Pixlr - Online photo editing tool, slimier to Photoshop, but free.
- Screencastify - Google extension app that records screen casts and form webcams, lite version is free but has a watermark on videos.
- Sumdog - An engaging math game platform with tons of free customizable content, it is perfect for fluency development and fun math practice.
- Weebly - Drag and drop website creator. Has the option of including custom HTML code within website templates, make the tool versatile for users with code writing who want to move beyond the templates but don't want to code a whole site.
- Wikimedia Commons - a resource for open source images from Wikimedia (Wikipedia) databases.
- Wix - This is a drag and drop website creator that is consumer friendly and and has many free tools to make designs reality.
- XtraMath - XtraMath is purely for math fact fluency practice, but it encourages students to increase their speed and accuracy thought competition, and tracks and reports on their progress for the low price of free!
- YouTube - More than just a place to publish digital videos, YouTube offers free video editing tool, and access to opensource music and sound-effects
